Amadeus adds taxi rides to Cytric booking tool

Travel tech giant Amadeus is to integrate taxi bookings into its travel and expense booking tool Cytric through a new partnership with Karhoo.

The link with Karhoo will allow business travelers to book rides with taxi and private transfer companies in more than 1,000 cities around the world through the Cytric mobile app. They will also be able to compare prices, vehicle category and estimated waiting time.

Vasken Tokatlian, vice president of partnerships and alliances at Amadeus Cytric Solutions, said the partnership with Karhoo would make Cytric “more friendly” for travelers.

“We want them to have everything they need at their fingertips. This partnership with Karhoo really takes us to the next level when it comes to delivering a true end-to-end experience for business travellers,” added Tokatlian.

As a future enhancement, Amadeus also plans to link auto-generated receipts from Karhoo bookings for customers using the Cytric expense solution.

Karhoo, which was founded in 2017 and is now owned by French car group Renault, has created a global marketplace connecting travel agencies and their passengers with taxis and private rental vehicles.

Amadeus has been working this year on the development of its enterprise tool Cytric, which has notably been integrated with the suite of Microsoft 365 enterprise software, such as the Teams communication application and the Outlook messaging system.
