I am a travel planner who has been going to Disney World for 30 years. Here are 13 things I always do.

Since I became a Disney travel planner 10 years ago, these have been my go-tos.Jennifer Greene

  • I’ve been going to Disney World for over 30 years and there are certain things I do on every trip.

  • If I don’t have a Mickey ice cream bar or a Mickey-shaped pretzel, my trip is incomplete.

  • Watching fireworks over Cinderella’s Castle is one of the many reasons Magic Kingdom has my heart.

Mickey’s Ice Cream Bars are the holy grail of Disney treats.

Everyone has their favorite disney candybut for me it will always be a Mickey ice cream bar.

This Mickey Mouse-shaped ice cream makes me feel like a kid again.

I once went to an event with unlimited bars and had to stop after three hours. It was a five hour event, so I think I did pretty well.

It’s like Halloween 365 days a year at the Haunted Mansion.

One of my favorite Magic Kingdom attractions is the Haunted Mansion.

Something about Madame Leota and the famous Grim Grinning Ghosts always makes me smile. And I love riding in the aptly named Doom Buggies, which is what they call the ride vehicles on the attraction.

Give your feet a break as you ride the monorail.

When my kids were in strollers, we would leave the parks and take the monorail around the seaside resort loop to get them out of the Florida sun and into the air conditioning for them to nap.

Even though I’m not staying at a monorail station, I always make it a point to ride it when I visit because it’s my preferred mode of Disney transportation.

Mickey Mouse is everywhere in Disney World – you just have to find him.

I like to find “Hidden Mickeys” (three circles that look like an outline of Mickey’s head) in unsuspecting spots around the property or just hide in plain sight.

You can also make it a really fun game when queuing for attractions.

There is even a hidden mickey in the haunted mansion. On your next visit, keep an eye out as you pass the ballroom.

Mickey-shaped pretzels are the ultimate salty snack.

Pretzel in the shape of Mickey

I don’t know about the Mickey Mouse shaped snacks, but these are definitely my favorites.

As for savory snacks, I take the Mickey-shaped soft pretzel — with cheese sauce, always.

Even if you don’t visit the parks, you can still find the classic snack at Disney Springs.

Disney PhotoPass is absolutely one of my favorite park offerings.

Disney Photo Pass lets you take fun, creative photos you won’t find anywhere else – and you don’t have to worry about leaving anyone behind. PhotoPass employees are stationed at popular locations around the parks.

Sometimes beloved characters even magically appear in your photos, like Remy at Epcot.

Nobody does fireworks like Disney World.

Whether you watch Harmonious in Epcot along the World Showcase or Disney Enchantment over Cinderella Castleit’s always memorable.

There’s something about the soundtracks and the stories that make these shows special. My travels are never complete without seeing at least one nighttime spectacle.

Dole Whip is another incomparable Disney treat.

Did you even go to Disney if you didn’t have a Dole Whip?

I still get mine at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom, but you can now find the treat in many other places.

I prefer the Dole Whip float with pineapple juice as opposed to the plain Dole Whip soft serve. Or you can really spice it up at Epcot and get a rum-enriched float.

Space Mountain is an extraordinary experience.

Space Mountain is a classic Disney attraction.

It’s one of my favorites in Magic Kingdom, and I have to ride it every visit.

It’s not the newest roller coaster in the park – it’s been open since 1975 – but it’s the most nostalgic for me.

There’s no popcorn like Disney World popcorn.

The popcorn at Disney World tastes better than anywhere else. Although it may seem like an ordinary snack, it is one of my favorites.

I never leave Magic Kingdom without grabbing some popcorn and a soda for the monorail ride back.

There are many varieties to enjoy, but the real winner is the classic air-sautéed carts.

Have breakfast with Disney characters.

Donald Duck at Disney World Breakfast

I know it sounds a little corny, but I love Disney Character Breakfasts. There’s just something about starting your day with Mickey and Friends that really makes you feel immersed in the magic of Disney.

My favorite breakfast is the Topolino Terrace at the Riviera Resort, but you can’t go wrong with any of them.

These experiences book up quickly, so be sure to make your reservations 60 days before your trip.

I love sipping a Grand Marnier orange slush in the France Pavilion.

Every time I’m at Epcot I get a Grand Marnier orange porridge. It’s my absolute favorite.

Head to the France Pavilion in the World Showcase and sample a blend of Grand Marnier liqueur, rum, Gray Goose vodka and orange juice.

It’s basically an adult Creamsicle.

Of all the Disney World theme parks, Magic Kingdom has my heart.

I never miss an opportunity to visit Magic Kingdom.

I enjoy a trip there even if I don’t ride any attractions. I like to find a nice place to sit and have a snack while taking in all the magic around me.

Every time I walk down Main Street USA it feels like home and it will always be my favorite place.
